How many 12×24 tiles cover 100 square feet?

A 12×24 inch tile has a face area of two square feet, so 100 square feet needs 50 tiles before cuts, breakage or spares.

The base calculation

Convert both tile sides to feet: 12 inches is 1 foot and 24 inches is 2 feet. One tile therefore covers 2 square feet. Dividing 100 by 2 gives a base count of 50 whole tiles.

Add only the allowance your project needs

Cuts, pattern, breakage, room shape and desired repair spares can change the purchase quantity. TileCalc keeps the percentage visible and editable instead of declaring one value correct for every installation.
