A transparent area-based estimate

Know how many tiles and boxes your measurements imply.

Add rectangular surfaces or enter a known area, choose tile dimensions, then set the extra percentage yourself. TileCalc rounds to whole tiles and, when supplied, whole boxes. It runs in your browser and does not pretend to model cuts, joints, patterns, obstacles, offcuts, or installer decisions.

Three explicit steps

Measure, define the tile, then choose the extra

01

Measure every rectangle

Keep separate walls or floor sections as separate rows so their source dimensions remain reviewable.

02

Enter tile face dimensions

Use the width and height printed for the selected product; thickness is irrelevant to this area estimate.

03

Choose and record the extra

Enter a percentage that fits your plan and advice; TileCalc never inserts a universal hidden recommendation.

Useful for a first quantity check

One formula, several ordinary surfaces

  • For floors, add rectangular sections separately when the room is not one clean rectangle.
  • For walls and backsplashes, record every measured panel and decide explicitly whether openings are excluded.
  • For box planning, supply the exact pieces-per-box label to see the unavoidable whole-box rounding.
